Lead Attorney – General Litigation
Amy graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University in 1993. She attended the University of Iowa School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the Iowa Law Review, received the American Jurisprudence Award for Civil Procedure and was named “Best Advocate” as a member of the Moot Court Competition’s National Finalist Team. She obtained her Juris Doctor with high distinction in 1996.
After law school, Amy joined Snell & Wilmer, LLP. She practiced health care litigation in their Phoenix office from 1996-1999 and then transferred to the Orange County office where she was elected to the position of Senior Attorney and practiced in the product liability litigation group until 2009. At Snell & Wilmer, Amy defended a range of clients from individuals and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. These clients included physicians, hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and automobile manufacturers. She second-chaired several jury trials, took hundreds of depositions of parties and experts as well as fact witnesses, conducted complex discovery and prepared and argued numerous motions in state and federal court.
She then joined Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP in Irvine as a staff associate in their nationally acclaimed labor and employment practice group, where her practice was focused on defending employers against claims under both federal and California laws for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation and defending against wage and hour class action disputes for misclassification of workers, unpaid wages and overtime, and meal and rest breaks.
In addition to her legal work, Amy is a volunteer Court-Appointed Special Advocate with CASA of Orange County, mentoring and advocating in court on behalf of abused and neglected children. She is also an active member of the Riverside County Bar Association, and currently serves on their publications committee.
