Jillian H. is an experienced business litigator. Jillian has in-depth experience at all stages of litigation, from researching and drafting complaints through jury trial and appeal. Jillian practices in both state and federal court, as well as before various administrative agencies. She also has significant experience as in-house counsel.
Jillian received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude in 2005. She graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 2001 and was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa.
After law school, Jillian joined O’Melveny and Myers as a litigation associate. Jillian’s practice focused on complex business litigation, including unfair competition, professional liability defense, business torts, trademark, insurance, contract and class actions. Jillian handled all aspects of litigation, including drafting and arguing motions; taking and defending depositions; researching and preparing case analysis; representing clients at mediations and settlement conferences; conducting witness interviews; preparing witnesses and experts for depositions; and handling discovery.
Jillian has significant trial and arbitration experience. In addition to participating in civil trials, Jillian worked as a short-term Deputy District Attorney with the Orange County District Attorney’s office, during which time she successfully obtained guilty verdicts in several jury trials. Jillian was also a member of a three-attorney team that obtained victories in multiple international arbitrations and spent time in O’Melveny’s London office working on the largest European Telecom dispute.
Jillian’s legal career included a secondment to Western Digital Corporation, where she served as Acting Legal Counsel. In this role, Jillian was responsible for the oversight and management of all litigation, as well as resolution of competitor disputes; the development of a framework for a legal compliance program; employee trainings on trade secret issues; and the investigation and resolution of internal employee issues.
Since leaving private practice, Jillian has enjoyed teaching Business Associations as an adjunct law professor and consulting on civil litigation matters. She affiliated with Montage Legal Group’s network of freelance attorneys in 2016. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and children.
