Kandy L. Williams advises founders, startups, and emerging growth companies through all stages and life cycles of their businesses. She has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions and all aspects of private financings, including seed, angel, and venture capital financings.
Kandy also advises clients on business formation, corporate governance, founder agreements, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, stock options and incentive compensation, intellectual property protection, intellectual property licensing, and commercial financing transactions. She has represented healthcare companies, tech companies, real estate companies, real estate investors, and nonprofit companies. Kandy has also represented physician groups and dental groups in healthcare-related merger and acquisition transactions.
She has practiced corporate law at several leading law firms with offices in Orange County, including as an affiliated attorney at Bryan Cave LLP, and as an associate attorney at Snell & Wilmer LLP and Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP. Before moving to Orange County, Kandy practiced corporate and securities law at the Nashville, Tennessee office of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP, a national law firm for transactional, regulatory and litigation matters in healthcare and other industries. Kandy opened her own law firm in 2009 and has been affiliated with Montage Legal Group since 2010.
Through the Trial Attorney Partnership Program with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Kandy served as a Deputy District Attorney and successfully prosecuted a jury trial and argued numerous preliminary hearings, motions, and other evidentiary matters.
Kandy attended the University of Mississippi and graduated cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she served as Literary Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and won several moot court awards and competitions. Kandy previously sat on the Board of Dirctors and was the Chair of the Governance Committee of Hope University, an arts day school for adults with developmental disabilities.
Kandy is one of the co-founders of the Orange County chapter of LegalHackers and of the podcast “Future Meets Law.” She is also the founder of Delve Diligence, which provides tech-enabled legal services for M&A transactions to law firms and businesses.
In her spare time, Kandy can be found watching her children’s various lacrosse and softball games. She also enjoys running and yoga (especially hot yoga).
