Ron earned a B.A. with distinction in political science from Stanford University in 1990, and obtained his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 1994. Ron’s practice focuses on real estate and business litigation, financial institutions, and employment law.
Ron was a senior attorney at Miller & Clark, a real estate boutique firm, from 2003 to 2007. His practice focused on litigation representing the title insurance and mortgage lending and servicing industries. From 1997 to 2003, Ron practiced with the Business Trial and Labor & Employment departments of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP’s Orange County office. Ron’s litigation experience includes real estate and general civil and business litigation, encompassing real property disputes, foreclosure and title litigation, lender liability, warehouse lending disputes, contract claims, collections, partnership disputes, professional liability, business torts, unfair competition, intellectual property licensing disputes, and class actions. His labor and employment experience spans a wide variety of employment litigation, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage claims. He has also provided advice and counsel to employers and management concerning personnel policies, employee handbooks, employment agreements, regulatory compliance, wage and hour issues, exemption issues, family and medical leaves, disability leaves and accommodation, and dealing with regulatory and administrative agencies.
Most recently, Ron was a founding partner of Robertson & Thommarson, LLP, a boutique law firm focusing on business law and business litigation. In 2012, Ron elected to transition away from law firm practice in favor of an alternative practice. He joined Montage Legal Group in 2012.
Ron is admitted to practice in all of the state courts of California, as well as the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Real Estate and Labor and Employment Law Sections, as well as the national and regional alumni associations of Stanford University and the University of Southern California.
