Shanda B. received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, magna cum laude, from Indiana University in 1990. She graduated summa cum laude in 1993 with a law degree from Indiana University where she was a John H. Edwards Fellow and served as an associate editor on the Indiana Law Review as well as President of the International Law Society. Shanda is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in both Indiana and California and holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.
After law school, Shanda joined Henderson, Daily, Withrow & DeVoe in Indianapolis, focusing on corporate litigation and transactions. Shanda then joined Irell & Manella in 1996, where she specialized in business litigation, including business torts, trade secrets litigation, contract disputes, labor disputes, and Indian gaming. Shanda then practiced at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from 1998 through 2004. At Gibson, Shanda specialized in complex commercial litigation including securities fraud, accounting malpractice, energy and pipeline contract disputes, trade secrets litigation, business torts, labor and employment disputes, and insurance coverage litigation. Shanda has significant experience in a variety of complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts across the country, at the trial and appellate levels, including arbitration and mediation, with extensive experience in the areas of business torts and related contract and commercial litigation, securities litigation, accounting malpractice litigation, insurance coverage litigation, unfair competition and trade secret litigation, trademark infringement, trade secret, labor and employment.
Shanda is the co-author of “Liability of Developers and Contractors: If You Build It—They Will Sue” published by and presented at the American Bar Association in San Francisco (1997) and in San Diego (1996). She is also the co-author of “Cost Reduction Measure that Impact the Quality of a Defense of the Ultimate Result in Litigation May Violate the Duty to Defend” presented at the Self-Insureds and Risk Managers Program of the 1996 American Bar Association Meeting, August 1996, Orlando, FL.
Shanda joined Montage Legal Group in 2012, and is located in Orange County, CA.
