Feeling Grateful on Valentine’s Day

When Laurie and I started Montage Legal Group thirteen years ago, we decided then that one of our primary goals for Montage would be to be as helpful as possible to freelance attorneys. Lawyer parents have always been especially important to us because we understand their challenges firsthand. Thirteen years later, our happiest and best days are when we hear from our Montage freelance attorneys that we’ve helped bring some happiness into their lives, and have played some small part in them achieving their goals. I thought I would share (with permission) just one small example of an email we received recently.

Hello!

I wanted to take a quick minute to express my gratitude to you all. 

When I stepped away from my big firm career in 2012, I was jaded and burned out.  Ten years later, I’m shocked and thrilled that I’m enjoying the practice of law again.  Your agency has given my career a second life. 

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the folks at [firm name omitted] and hope to stay with them for the next several months.  They’ve asked me to expand my role with different projects and I’m happy to oblige.

And today, I’m starting a new project with an all-female attorney team (I’ve never had that before, how exciting) representing veterans and defending their depositions.  It is exactly the kind of work I love to do.  As a junior associate in a big firm, I had very little influence over the cases I was assigned and the direction of my career. With your agency, I’m able to take on the projects that excite and challenge me. 

What’s more, I’m making a good living as a single mom with time left over to actually raise my kids. 

Thank you, truly.  You’ve created a special place and I’m grateful to be a small part of it.  I’ll also add that you all run a very tight and efficient ship over there and from my perspective at least, you’re killing it.
