Almost daily, Montage Legal Group is contacted by female attorneys who are either thinking about leaving their law firms to stay-at-home with their children, or women who have been staying at home with their children for a number of years and now want to get back into the legal workforce. We always try to give advice, but we certainly don’t claim to have all of the answers. We were recently introduced to a group called “What’s For Work?” which helps women transition from career to stay-at-home mom, and from stay-at-home mom back to career. We found two recent articles by What’s For Work?’s CEO, Teri Hockett, that are especially helpful to women who are thinking about making one of these large changes in their lives:
Transitioning from Career to Stay-at-Home Mom: This article provides 4 tips for women who are thinking about leaving their careers to stay-at-home, and addresses the “working mom” guilt. Click here to read article.
Employed By Life: This article provides 3 steps to translate skills and experiences of stay-at-home moms into job market skills, which is extremely helpful to women who are thinking about transitioning back to work. Click here to read more.
Teri Hockett is the CEO of What’s For Work? The Premier Career Site for Women. Her passion for helping women in need of work that have been Employed by Life, or those looking to find work they love, is what lead to the creation of What’s For Work? The site helps women find jobs, build resumes, prepare for interviews, connect with other women, and more.
