The law firm clothing drive “Suits for a Cause” has been getting a lot of press lately for bringing together law firms and legal businesses in support of the local non-profit, Women Helping Women/Men2Work. Hundreds of on-line publications, including Yahoo!, Reuters, CNBC.com, picked up Women Helping Women’s press release and printed an article thanking all of the law firms and legal businesses that are currently participating in Suits for a Cause. Suits for a Cause runs during the month of June, and law firms are still welcome to participate. Below is a link to and the text of the Yahoo!.com version of the article.
Over 25 law firms are joining together in June for a clothing drive called Suits for a Cause to support Women Helping Women/Men2Work (WHW). WHW is an Orange County non-profit with a simple, but incredibly important mission – to help low-income men and women get jobs. WHW provides business attire, and is dedicated to empowering job seekers by helping them develop the skills they need to become economically self-sufficient.
WHW was started by two legal professionals who were victims of domestic abuse. After surviving domestic abuse, they faced the daunting task of rebuilding their professional wardrobes to return to the workforce. Over the past two decades, WHW has grown by adding a men’s division and by expanding its focus to providing a full array of employment services specifically focusing on job placement.
Suits for a Cause engages the entire legal community to help WHW fulfill its vision. “WHW is overjoyed that so many law firms are participating in this clothing drive,” says Janie Wolicki, WHW’s Executive Director. “The donated clothing will provide countless individuals with a professional wardrobe, which is the first step to obtaining employment.”

Yahoo! is really good at helping the community out. As far as PR is concerned, Yahoo! is toe-to-toe with Google.
