Debbie B. is an experienced litigator with a special focus on labor and employment matters. Debbie has handled all aspects of litigation from pre-litigation and pleadings, complex motions, discovery and trial for single plaintiff, multi-plaintiff and class action, and PAGA cases.
Debbie graduated from the University of California Los Angeles in 2000. She received her Juris Doctor from Boston University in 2003.
After law school, Debbie joined Ballard Rosenberg Golper and Savitt, where she focused on employment defense matters, including matters before the NLRB. Debbie then joined Jackson Lewis, where she continued to handle employment defense. At Jackson Lewis, she represented employers in all aspects of federal and state labor and employment law, including counseling and/or litigation on employment issues (harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, FINRA, ERISA, leave issues), and wage and hour matters (misclassification, overtime, meal and rest periods, vacation accruals and payouts, expense reimbursement). She advised employers and provided training on policies, procedures, terminations, employment and separation agreements, and employment handbooks. Debbie was responsible for managing all aspects of cases ranging from individual plaintiff lawsuits to California class actions from inception to conclusion. This included investigating and analyzing claims, conducting and defending fact and expert witness depositions, handling all aspects of discovery, conducting client and witness interviews, meeting and conferring with opposing counsel, coordinating with third party administrators, and participating in trials, mediations, and arbitrations. Debbie also regularly represented clients at court mandated conferences, before the Labor Commissioner, and before the UIAB.
Debbie then joined Ogletree Deakins, where she represented employers in all aspects of federal and state employment matters, including providing counseling and litigating single plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, class action and PAGA claims.
In additional to her legal career, Debbie is on the Board of Advisors for the National Kidney Foundation. She also serves on the Board of Circle of Friends, a volunteer organization supporting Kidspace Museum. She affiliated with Montage Legal Group’s freelance attorney platform in 2019, and is admitted to practice law in California.
