Katie P. obtained her Juris Doctor in the top 20% of her class from Stetson University College of Law in 2005, where she won several awards for her participation on the International Moot Court Team. While in law school, Katie served as judicial intern to the Honorable Lisa T. Munyon of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. Katie obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 2002.
After law school, Katie started out in litigation with Reid & Hellyer, and then joined Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden, APC. At Gresham, Katie focused on real estate transactions, including land use, redevelopment, city code enforcement, acquisition, zoning, permitting, and development work. Katie also served as co-chair for City Council meetings, and managed numerous multi-million dollar acquisitions.
Katie then opted to start her own law firm, Meier & Phillips, LLP, where she continued to develop her real estate practice and also focused on general corporate transactions, including entity formation, due diligence, and contract negotiation.
Katie wanted to develop a litigation practice, so joined Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith’s Costa Mesa office, where she focused on labor and employment law. At Lewis Brisbois, Katie counseled clients in numerous employment matters, including wage-hour compliance, discrimination and harassment, risk assessment and litigation prevention.
Katie joined Montage Legal Group in late 2011. In addition to her legal practice, Katie volunteers for the Children’s Fund, Surfrider Foundation, and the American Red Cross. Katie is also conversational in French.
