Laura Finkelstein graduated magna cum laude from UCLA in 1993, where she was admitted into phi beta kappa. She obtained her Juris Doctor from University of Southern California Law School in 1996, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class, as Order of the Coif. While at USC, Laura was a member of moot court and completed an externship with the Honorable Judge Hupp in U.S. District Court.
Following law school, Laura joined Sheppard Mullin’s Orange County office where she practiced in the transactional department. At Sheppard Mullin, Laura documented and negotiated loans, formed corporations, and assisted in negotiation and documentation of the sale of corporate assets.
Laura then joined Allen Matkins, where she practiced in their tax group. At Allen Matkins, Laura formed LLCs and partnerships, assisted in tax driven partnership restructuring, prepared all documentation for private offerings, and drafted all documentation for 1031 exchanges. Laura also assisted in preparing real estate purchase and sale agreements.
After taking some time off to be at home with her three children, Laura relaunched her legal career by joining Montage Legal Group’s network of freelance attorneys in 2011.
In addition to her legal career, Laura has a California real estate broker’s license. Laura also co-founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation known as RMIQ Foundation to raise funds to benefit her children’s elementary school. Laura currently serves as the Vice President of RMIQ Foundation and is on the Board of Directors of the corporation.
