Attention, all pro-football fans:
I am a long-term member and past president of the Board of the Orange County Bar Foundation. We are local lawyers, jurists and business leaders, with one mission: We raise money to support the gifted and talented Bar Foundation professional staff help at-risk youth stay out of jail, in school, healthy, and drug-free, through counseling, education and mentoring.
We recently elected an Associate Board – one of the best decisions the “big board” (we prefer that to the “old board”) has ever made. This group of young, dynamic OC professionals hit the ground running. They’ve already hosted a Rooftop-Beer-Tasting fiundraiser, and helped the Foundation raise money for our annual golf tournament and for the OC Marathon. Their next endeavor on behalf of the OCBF is a party, featuring an NFL playoff game (on TV), beer, tacos. and margaritas. It will take place at noon this Saturday, on January 11th, at Advanced Depositions in Irvine. See 2014 Football Playoffs Event Flyer.
The cost is $35.00 per person, and, the proceeds go directly to the Foundation’s Higher Education Mentoring program – a program dedicated to helping motivated, under-privileged high school students do what most of them are the first person ever in their family do: go to college. Please join Gary and me, John Hurlbut, and many other long-time Foundation Board members as we celebrate the NFL post-season, But more important, come support the awesome Associate Board of the Orange County Bar Foundation as they raise money for Higher Education. It will be fun, and you’re certain to either meet, or to become reacquainted with, some great folks.
