Newport Beach, California (Tuesday, March 19, 2013) – On Saturday, April 13, 2013, supporters of WHW (Women Helping Women/Men2Work) will gather at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach for a gourmet luncheon and fashion show to raise funds and awareness for WHW’s Employment Success Program. The Employment Success Program provides employment support services at no charge and with no obligation to over 4,000 disadvantaged and low-income Orange County job seekers every year, preparing men, women and teens to get and keep good jobs.
While historically the two martini lunch was a leisurely lunch taken for the purposes of business, WHW will treat its guest to a Saturday afternoon of good food, fashion and fundraising. The retro event, which is being sponsored by WHW Corporate Partners, Farmers and Merchants Bank and First Bank, will feature a robust silent auction of over 75 donated items, an elegant fashion show hosted by Ann Taylor, The Shops at Mission Viejo, and martinis hosted by Little Black Dress Vodka.
So if you’ve always wished you could dress like a Mad Men character and have been searching for the perfect opportunity, this is it! There promises to be plenty of slim pants, pencil skirts, curve hugging dresses, cat eye sunglasses, structured pocketbooks and stilettos at this nostalgic affair.
